The shrilling wind
Comes fiercely,
Whipping at the corners,
Prying at a shingle,
Rushing in the chimney,
Seeking ways to enter and destroy.
Because I cannot see it, is it
Any the less Real?
Another force
Comes fiercely
Prying with temptation,
Pushing to discourage,
Seeking points of weakness,
Using tools of apathy and greed.
Since I cannot see it, am I
Any the less
Vulnerable
